Benefits
Use of colours that you can create with bubble tubes, fibre optics and other lighting effects, specific images from projectors, distinct smells & aromas relating to events in your story, plus sound effects and music to set the scene and help create the atmosphere, really bringing your story to life!
A sensory room enables teachers at schools to be more creative with their lessons, bringing the information alive rather than simply reading from a text book. A history lesson could take pupils back in time to the wild west with the smell of gun smoke, images of cowboys and the sound of horses’ hooves galloping or videos of ponies. Or inspire students to take an interest in STEM with visits to the International Space Station, using interactive lighting effects, sounds of rocket boosters, plus Fog Machine or Jet Stream wind effects. The full sensory experience can really help to cement ideas and lessons into pupil’s memories.
