Sensory Pools
Sensory pools use hydrotherapy to make movement development more engaging. The use of carefully planned lighting, projections and atmospherics can encourage even the most reluctant user to be more motivated to enter the pool.

As well as developing aerobic physical skills, a sensory pool can be used for a wide variety of activities, including colour and shape recognition, cause and effect understanding, tracking and switching skills, as well as social interaction and relaxation.
For those who have severe physical difficulties, a pool is one of the few places where they feel free of supporting equipment and devices, and floating in warm water is enjoyable and liberating. Lighting and sound enhance the experience, as the buoyancy of the water helps to support body weight, which can relieve pressure on joints, reduce pain and increase movement.
Hydrotherapy is a great way for everyone to get involved in some light exercise. Pools provide freedom of movement where people who are seated for large parts of the day in a wheelchair or mobility scooter, can really benefit from being in the water.
