Changing Places Facility: The Union Theological College
The Union Theological College in Belfast was motivated to install a Changing Places toilet after a number of disabled students had registered to attend the college but they needed the correct facilities to enable their attendance. The College was determined to show their commitment to provide inclusive facilities for all their students and commenced work in January 2017. The facility was completed 3 months later and the college is now a fully inclusive Educational Institute.
This fantastic new inclusive facility is accessible via the ground floor of the main building at the college. The 6m X 4m space enables unrestricted wheelchair access via a new widened door and ample space in the new facility to allow the wheelchair user and carers to access this resource easily.
Sync Living were a key component to the completion of this new disabled facility and worked closely with the contractor Annvale Construction Ltd and the Sub- Contractor JR Waddell & Son Ltd to ensure the equipment specified was located in the correct position to benefit the end user. Sync Living provided and installed all the key equipment needed.
“Union Theological College is extremely happy with the Changing Places Facility. The College can now provide facilities that enable all students to pursue their academic ambitions. The work to install the facility was carried out with minimal disruption to the working life of the College. “ – K.Brown, Manager
