Changing Places Facility: Belfast International Airport
Transport Hubs including Train/Bus terminals, Airports and Ferry Terminals are starting to realise the importance of providing inclusive facilities for their customers. Belfast International Airport was motivated to open a Changing Places facility during their recent refurbishment of the toilet facilities in the main departure lounge.
Throughout the project it was important to achieve the maximum amount of space to allow easy wheelchair access and carer support. This objective was achieved by firstly ensuring the recommended space (12m sq) specified by Changing Places was adhered and secondly the positioning of the equipment. The positioning of the correct equipment is key to the success of a Changing Places facility. Sync Living was able to provide expert advice and recommendations throughout the process in order to achieve the best outcome.
Due to the area being unsupervised and a multi-user environment, the ceiling track hoist has the ability to self-charge to enable multiple lifts on a daily basis. The hoist systems are simple to use and allow for full room coverage.
Sync Living provided and installed all the key equipment needed.
